Carl Taege was born in Blankensee, Templin, Prussia.  The below map shows the location.  All ships sailed from Hamburg.

Carl Taege married Julianne Rosalie Kupkowski who was most likely born in Starogard, Gdanski, Poland (not to be confused with Stargard which is also in Poland, situated further west, as shown on the map below).  Further below are older maps showing these places when the areas were known as Pomerania and West Prussia.  Starogard Gdanski (German: Preuβisch Stargard) is a town in Northern Poland and the capital of Starogard County.

Julianne Kupkowski's baptism in May 1856 describes her baptism place as Danzig-Westpr (Gdansk) Poland - Pr Stargard.

Carl Taege selected 40 acres of land in Alberton in the Pimpama Island area.
Pimpama Island was the area east of Beenleigh and the Pacific Highway, bounded on the north by Logan River and on the south by Pimpama River. It extended to Moreton Bay and included the localities now known as Norwell, Woongoolba, Cabbage Tree Creek, Steiglitz and Jacobs Well.
Pimpama (shown on the below map) is on the other (south) side of Pimpama River, and was not part of the island.
Alberton was just south of the Logan River and would have therefore been included in the Pimpama Island area.
