Christian & Johanne Taege
Did they go to Bethania with other families from the Susanne Goddefroy?
If not, where did they go after landing in Brisbane?

Where was Julianne buried?  Death Certificate states she was buried at Alberton.  Alberton Cemetery has no record of her burial.  Was she buried on the family property?

Did Gussie become engaged (ring on third finger left hand in photo)?
When did Gussie contract typhoid?  (There was an outbreak mid/late 1800's.)

Schooling of Carl & Julianne's children - Alberton State School
Records have been located of four of the children enrolled at Pimpama Island State School (changed to Woongoolba State School) in 1896.  As they all enrolled at the same time, regardless of the differences in ages, indications are that this was a move from a previous school.
Southport Local History Library has some information about Alberton State School which contains a very limited list of students earlier than the years when the Taege children would have attended.  There is a possible entry referring to Carl Taege - see below "The Mystery of two Carl Taege's".

The Mystery of two Carl Taege's
On a list of Parents & Children residing near proposed State School of Alberton (a Provisional School at the time) in April 1883, there appears to be an entry for Carl Taege on "No 30" which is assumed to be Portion 30 selected by Carl Taege.  However, it refers to a child, Adolph, aged 8 yrs.  Carl & Juliane's eldest child, Heinrich, was born in April 1880 so would have only been three years of age.

There is also a Carl Taege listed on a letter written in 1881 seeking to establish the Alberton State School.

Carl Taege's son, Otto, died from accidental drowning (see below).  One of the witnesses to the drowning was Otto's great-uncle, Carl Taege.  It is assumed, therefore, that Christian Friedrich Taege had a brother, Carl.  However, no record can be found other than those disclosed here.  No record can be found for any person by the name of Adolph Taege.
